Crotts & Sunders recently held a Grand Opening of its new 24,000 sq. ft. Southeast Technical Center for machine tools and metrology equipment and services located at 2709 Boulder Park Court., Winston-Salem, NC.
Attendees saw demonstrated several machine tool systems under power including: 3, 4 and 5 axis machining; vertical turning centers; single and twin spindle lathes; automated lathes; automation systems; and part washing. The following technology was on display; rotary transfer / multispindle; Swiss turning’ precision OD/ID grinding; tool and cutter grinding; high speed routers; CAD/CAM software; and work holding and tooling.
Metrology equipment featured included: CMMs (touch probe, tactile scanning, laser scanning); portable laser scanning; 3D multisensory systems; vision/large FOV systems; optical comparators; contour and surface finish; and rebuilt/refurbished equipment. Technology on display included SPC data collection; fixture systems; and X-ray and CT inspection.
Attendees were encouraged to bring their manufacturing challenges and most difficult parts to receive help from Crotts and Saunders engineers who have many decades of experience providing engineering solutions.
